Bridgewater State 84, Massachusetts College 47

Bridgewater, MA - — In MASCAC men’s basketball action this afternoon from the Tinsley Center, the Bridgewater State College Bears jumped out to a 43-19 halftime lead and never looked back as they defeated the Trailblazers of Mass. College of Liberal Arts, 84-47.

The Bears, who improved to 7-7 on the season and 2-1 in the MASCAC, got up by as many as 40 points in the second half before settling for the 37-point win. MCLA drops to 6-6 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

BSC freshman guard Tom Cuddihy (Scituate, MA) led all scorers with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Senior guard Brian Adamczyk (Chicopee, MA) dished out 11 assists in the game with 10 of those coming in the first half. Also scoring in double-figures for BSC were seniors Peter Santos (Fairhaven, MA) and Matt Badiali (Raynham, MA). Santos came within a rebound of a double-double as he finished with 12 point and 9 boards. Badiali also scored 12 points and added 7 rebounds.

Senior guard Robert Mitchell (Brooklyn, MA) was the high scorer in the game for MCLA as he connected for 13 points to go along with 8 rebounds. Junior guard Adam Garner (North Adams, MA) also scored 10 points off the bench for the Trailblazers.

The Bears are off until Thursday when they travel to UMass-Boston for a non-conference affair with the Beacons. MCLA is back in action on Saturday when they take on MASCAC rival Worcester State in Worcester.
