Chicago 82, Case Western Reserve 71

CHICAGO — Jesse Meyer scored 20 points, including four three-point field goals, as Chicago defeated Case 82-71 in University Athletic Association play Sunday at the Ratner Athletics Center.

After a first half that featured 13 lead changes, Chicago (7-7 overall, 3-0 UAA) built a 45-36 lead at the intermission.

Case (5-9, 1-2) cut the gap to 58-57 with 8:28 left in the game, but the Maroons answered with a 16-3 run to put the game out of reach.

Brandon Woodhead scored 18 points for Chicago, while Justin Waldie contributed 16 points, seven rebounds, and six assists as the Maroons won their fourth consecutive game.

Chicago connected on 11 of 23 attempts from three-point range (47.8%) and shot 50% from the field. The Maroons also outrebounded the visiting Spartans by a 39-31 margin.

Funso Lafe led Case with a game-high 21 points, while Carson Oren and Mason Conrad added 19 and 15 points, respectively.
