Franklin and Marshall 108, Washington College 83

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Visiting Franklin & Marshall College connected on 12 of its first 14 field-goal attempts and shot 64% from the field in the first half en route to a 108-83 Centennial Conference men's basketball victory over host Washington College this afternoon at Cain Athletic Center. The Diplomats (10-3, 6-1 Centennial) got a game-high 27 points from Jackiem Wright and 25 points from Brandon Smith in the win, while junior forward Jonathan Webb led the Shoremen (5-9, 2-5) with 24 points in the loss.

F&M shot 21-of-33 from the field and 5-of-11 from beyond the three-point arc to take a 108-83 lead into halftime. The Diplomats cooled off slightly in the second half, shooting 16-of-32 from the floor, to finish with a 57% shooting percentage for the game. The Shoremen shot 54% from the field in the game, including 58% in the second half, but committed 27 turnovers to the Diplomats' 15.

Wright was 10-of-18 from the floor , including a five-for-nine performance from long range, en route to his 27 points. He also dished out five assists. Smith went 8-for-14 from the floor and 8-for-10 at the free-throw line for his 25 points. Joshua Fogg contributed 13 points, while Logan Outerbridge and Dan Lynch each added 11 points for the Diplomats. Outerbridge also dished out a game-high six assists.

Webb was 8-for-10 from the field, two-for-three from three-point range, and six-of-eight at the free throw line in his 24-point performance. Webb also pulled down seven rebounds. Junior guard Kyle Stem added 20 points for Washington, while senior guard John "China" Alexander tallied 10 points.
