Both teams played well in the first half with five lead changes. MC trailed 32-27 with two minutes remaining in the half but the Choctaws scored the final seven points to take a 34-32 lead into halftime.
The score was tied at 44-44 with 15:38 remaining before the Choctaws took control of the game by going on 13-1 run. LeTourneau did not get closer than seven points in the final ten minutes of the game.
MC used a balanced scoring attack with three Choctaws scoring in double figures. Cedric Armstron finished with 12, Lonnie Vasguez with eleven and Jason Walker with ten. Vasquez also pulled down a game high eight rebounds. Shedrick Kirk had an all-around good game with nine points, five rebounds and four assists.
LeTourneau was led by their leading scorer Julius McClaskey who finished the game with 16 points on 7-16 shooting. Daniel McGraner also added 16 with Jonathan Collins scoring 12. McClaskey was also the leading rebounder with six.
The Choctaws shot an even 50 percent from the field knocking down 27-54 attempts. LeTourneau was good on 25-62 attempts for a 40 percent shooting percentage.
The Choctaws had a huge edge on the boards outrebounding the Yellow Jackets 45-24.
The Choctaws hold a four game lead in the ASC Eastern Division and are in good shape to host the ASC Conference Tournament. LeTourneau dropped to 3-10 overall and 2-8 in the ASC.
