PINEVILLE, La. — The Louisiana College Men’s basketball team saw a three-point lead evaporate as East Texas Baptist University’s Rodney Calhoun nailed three straight free-throws after being fouled on a three-point shot attempt with nine seconds left in regulation. The first overtime ended in an 84-84 tie, but ETBU pulled away and gained the victory in the second overtime, 95-92.
Chris Campbell led LC (6-8, 5-7) with 21 points and 13 rebounds. ETBU (4-8, 4-6) was led by Chris Isom’s 27 points. LC held the American Southwest Conference’s leading scorer Cedric Isom scoreless in the first half, but Isom scored 19 of his team’s 46 points in the second half.
The game was the second straight double-overtime game between the two teams. The game concluded a five game homestand for LC. LC will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to Sherman, Texas to take on Austin College.
