Framingham State 72, Bridgewater State 62

Framingham, MA — Behind a career high 32 points from sophomore forward Derek Wigman, the Framingham State College men’s basketball team (6-5, 2-0) improved to 2-0 in the MASCAC with a 62-72 win over visiting Bridgewater State (6-7, 1-1). Wigman was outstanding as her connected on 13 of 17 shots from the field (76%) including 2-3 from behind the arc and 23 second half points to help the Rams hold off a late charge by the Bears.
The Rams were up by 22 with just over five minutes remaining in the game when Bridgewater connected on 4 of five from behind the arc to cut the lead to 6 with just under two minutes remaining. The Rams connected on 4 of 5 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Senior guard Paul Tanglis had 10 points and 4 assists while junior Ralph Sully had 9 points and 11 boards. Matt Badiali and Peter Santos led the Bears offensive attack with 17 and 15 points respectively.
The Rams next game is Tuesday, January 18th at 8pm at Worcester State while the Bears host MCLA at 4 pm on Monday
