Edgewood 73, Concordia (Wis.) 72

MEQUON, Wis. — With the Eagles down by two points, Edgewood College junior Seth Cooper was fouled by Concordia University’s Anthony Johnson on a three-point attempt as time expired. Cooper went on to sink all three of his free throws, giving Edgewood a 73-72 victory over the Falcons on Saturday.

Cooper was one of five Eagles scoring in double figures, as he finished with 11 points. Freshman Charlie Averkamp scored 16 points on 7-of-18 shooting from the field. Junior Justin Kuhnau tallied a season-high 15 points, including four of the team’s seven three pointers. Seniors David Michalkiewicz and Greg Blaska added 15 and 11 points, respectively. Michalkiewicz also had a game-high seven assists.

Concordia (5-11, 3-2 LMC) was led by 31 points from Anthony Johnson. Johnson connected on 10 field goals, seven of which were from beyond the arc. Ryan Wietor had 12 points for the Falcons.
