Junior center Nate Schmidt highlighted the victory, pouring in 20 points on 10-of-14 shooting to along with a co-team high three rebounds. Junior forward Joel Formanek came off the bench, hitting three-of-four three-point attempts, for a 10-point total. Eleven Knights contributed to the offensive parade as sophomore forward Nick Gullickson chimed in eight points and two blocked shots and junior forward Rance Cartmill also scored eight points.
Wartburg (11-3 overall, 5-0 IIAC) opened a 14-9 lead midway through the first half and continued to the build the margin. The Knights held as big as a 31-point cushion in the second half before the Dutch (4-9 overall, 2-3 IIAC) ended the game on an 18-5 run. Wartburg committed only five turnovers and was strong from the free throw line, hitting 19-of-22 attempts for 86.4 percent.
Keith Pedersen led two Central scorers in double figures with 12 points.
