Sophomore forward Jim Bayne (Bristol, CT) contributed a double double with 14 points and a game high 11 rebounds as the Golden Bears improved their record to 7-4 and 4-1 in the conference. Senior guard Jeremy Sternstein (Ithaca, NY) had a career high nine assists.
With only six players in uniform, Albertus Magnus (0-10, 0-5) shot 45.8% in the first half and trailed only 37-34 at intermission. However, Western New England College outscored the tired Falcons 52-26 in the second half.
The Golden Bears received 28 points from their reserves as senior forward Jason Cardinal (Ashaway, RI) and junior guard Matt Gigliello (Monroe Township, NJ) each had eight points.
Senior guard Tim Russell (Burlington, CT), who started the week as the nation's leading Division III scorer with a 31.3 average, led Albertus with 18 points.
