DOVER, De. — Wesley College (1-9, 0-4) fell to the defending PAC Champions Gwynedd-Mercy College (10-3, 4-0) by a final score of 87-75 in men's basketball action on Wednesday night. Wesley had its most balanced attack of the season as five Wolverines were in double-figures. Pat Woods (Lewes, DE/Cape Henlopen) and Nick Minor (Gambrills, MD/Arundel) paced the effort with 14 points apiece, while Rufus Mincey (Morristown, NJ/Morristown), Robert Gordy (Temperanceville, VA/Arcadia), and Durrell Harris (Wilmington, DE/St. Elizabeth) all had 10 points on the night. Gordy was 5-of-10 from the field and grabbed 8 rebounds for the Wolverines.
Badou Gaye (Norristown, PA/Kennedy-Kenrick) of Gwynedd-Mercy led all scorers with 29 points on 10-of-12 shooting, while grabbing 15 rebounds. Jeff Thomas (Philadelphia, PA/St. John Neumann) chipped in with 14 points, while Chris Delbrocco (Philadelphia, PA/St. John Neumann) had 13 points respectively. The Griffins shot 29-of-61 (47.5%) for the game.
Wesley was out-rebounded 39-37 and shot 31-of-69 (44.9%) from the field. The Griffins were 25-of-36 (69.4%) from the free-throw line in the game, while forcing the Wolverines into 22 turnovers.
