New York University 79, Polytechnic 43

BROOKLYN, NY — The New York University men`s basketball team snapped its two-game losing streak with a 79-43 win over Polytechnic University on Wednesday, January 12, in Brooklyn, NY.

With the Violets leading 24-21 with 4:39 left in the first half, NYU embarked on a 29-2 run over two halves and grabbed a 53-23 lead with 13:31 remaining in the contest. The Violets held a 37-21 lead at intermission.

NYU (9-3) recorded its largest lead of the game, 40 points (72-32), with 6:27 left in the game.

Michael DeCorso netted a team-high 13 points on 5-7 shooting from the field for NYU, while Jimmy Janeczek and Jared Kildare each collected 11 points. Jason Boone and Daniel Falcon tallied eight points each, while Falcon pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds.

Aboubakar Bamba led Polytechnic (2-9) with 15 points.
