Baruch 80, York (N.Y.) 72

NEW YORK — Robi Davidson scored a team-high 23 points (6-9 3FG) and Baruch fended off a late rally to defeat York by the score of 80-72 in a CUNYAC game played Wednesday night at the ARC Arena.

The game was a tale of two halves. Baruch went on a 24-4 run to build a 44-18 lead with about two minutes left in the first half.

They stormed out of the early part of the second half for a 61-34 lead, before York embarked on a furious rally of their own that saw them cut the deficit to 78-72 with 28 seconds left.

However, they could not get any closer as time ran out and Baruch (11-4, 4-1 CUNYAC) finished the game scoring their last 13 points on free throws to clinch the home conference victory.

Chris Alesi scored 19 points (12-14 FT) and dished out eight assists, while Cheick Fadika added 15 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks.

Kwesi Liverpool led York (3-11, 1-3 CUNYAC) with 22 points, with 20 coming during the second half rally.

Baruch will return to action on Monday with a big game at City Tech. Tip off on Martin Luther King Day is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
