St. Joseph's (Maine) 87, Daniel Webster 83NASHUA, N.H.- — St. Joseph's College of Standish, Maine led for barely three minutes of a 40-minute contest but managed to post an 87-63 victory over the host Daniel Webster College Eagles. Monk captain Steve Monteiro scored on a layup with three seconds left in the first half to give the Maine club its initial 37-36 lead at the half. The Eagles regained the lead quickly in the second half on a three-pointer by Danny Ford, 39-37 and managed to hold the lead until the 2:38 mark when Noah LaRoche scored on a reverse layup to break a 78-78 tie and give the Monks the lead for good. There were five ties in the contest. Monteiro scored a game-high 25 points while freshmen JJ Oliver and Josh Howe tied for game honors for the Eagles with 23 points apiece.
