The St. Norbert College men's basketball team snapped Lawrence University's 18-game home court winning streak at Alexander Gymnasium Tuesday night with an 84-76 victory.
The win was due in large part to the Green Knights' hot shooting. St. Norbert connected on 60 percent (30 of 50) of its shots, including 65 percent (11 of 17) on 3-pointers.
St. Norbert (5-6, 2-2 MWC) had four players in double figures. Brandon Hansen scored 21 points for St. Norbert, Aaron Faulkner added 19, Eric DeJardine had 14 and Austin Washington had 12.
St. Norbert jumped out to a 18-4 lead in the first half before Lawrence stormed back to take a 27-26 lead late in the opening period. St. Norbert put together another run and led 42-30 at the half, but Lawrence had tied the game 52-52 with 14:15 left.
Lawrence (6-3, 1-2 MWC), ranked 10th in this week's D3hoops.com poll, took its biggest lead of the game at 67-63. St. Norbert hit its next four shots to lead 74-69, and the Vikings never got closer than four points after that.
Chris Braier paced Lawrence with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Dan Evans had 14, and Jason Holinbeck, Brendan Falls and Kyle MacGillis scored 12 points apiece.
Lawrence could have won the game at the free-throw line, but shot only 22 of 35 (63 percent) for the game.
