Gettysburg 78, Washington College 62

GETTYSBURG, Pa. — The Gettysburg College men's basketball team defeated visiting Washington College, 78-62, in a Centennial Conference game this evening in Gettysburg, PA. The Bullets, who got game-highs of 24 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks from David Glaser, improved to 6-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play with the win, while the Shoremen slipped to 5-7 and 2-3.

The Bullets took the lead for good with a 10-0 run which gave them a 19-10 lead on a three-pointer by Matt Whelan with 9:54 to play in the first half. Gettysburg took a 34-27 lead into halftime and extended the lead to as many as 22 points in the second half.

Glaser went 10-for-13 from the field, one-of-two from beyond the three-point arc, and three-of-four from the free throw line en route to his 24 points. Mike Spadafora added 11 points for Gettysburg, while Ryan Page came off the bench to contribute 12 points for the Bullets.

Junior guard Kyle Stem led the Shoremen with 17 points and converted 13-of-14 free throw attempts. Junior forward Jonathan Webb added 16 points in the loss for Washington.

Gettysburg shot 54% from the field in the game, including a 61% mark in the second half. Washington shot 37% from the field in the game.
