BUFFALO, NY — Senior Sam Gioia had a game-high 19 points and added seven rebounds and five assists to help lead Hilbert College to their second straight win, an 80-47 victory on the road at Medaille College. The win improves the Hawks record to 3-7 overall and 1-2 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC). Medaille moves to 0-9 overall and 0-3 in the conference.



Hilbert got off to a quick start, taking a 20-5 lead within the first eight minutes of the first half. They maintained that lead throughout the first half, holding a 35-21 advantage at intermission. The Hawks continued their charge in the second half, going on a 15-2 run, pushing the lead to 27 and putting the game out of reach.



Al Leight had 14 points off the bench, and Sean Kenney added 12 for the victors. Pierre Bryant led the Mavericks with 16 points.



The Hawks take on AMCC opponent Frostburg State on Friday, January 14, starting a three-game home stand. Game time is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
