McDaniel 76, Haverford 70

WESTMINSTER, Md. — The McDaniel College (3-8, 1-3) men's basketball team defeated the Haverford (2-7, 1-3) Fords 76-70 on Saturday.

The Terror lead for 16 minutes in the first half, with Haverford's only lead coming at 13:22, on a Johnny Elefterakis lay-up to give the Fords a 12-10 lead. The Terror quickly took that lone lead away 13 seconds later off a Bryant Dull three-pointer.

An 11-1 McDaniel run near the end of the first half helped the Terror towards a 33-26 lead.

Josh McKay lead the Terror in the first half with seven points and seven rebounds.

McDaniel picked up where they left off at the halftime break, going on an 11-2 run to start the second extending the lead to 44-28. All five Terror starters scored a basket during the stretch. McDaniel held a double-digit lead until Elefterakis hit a three-pointer for the Fords with 10 minutes left to pull within nine, 54-45.

Haverford made things interesting with a 10-3 run capped off with a Jason Polykoff three-pointer with 1:18 left in the game to pull within two, 70-68.

McDaniel made enough free-throws in the end to hold onto the lead and get their first conference win of the season.

McKay recorded his first career double-double, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Kyle O'Connor led the way for McDaniel with 19 points.
