Mary Washington 64, Greensboro 63

Stevenson, MD — Jon Pierce scored a layup with 10 seconds left to lead the University of Mary Washington (8-4) to a 64-63 win over Greensboro College at the Villa Julie Tournament on Saturday night. Pierce had 14 points in the game.

The Pride then turned the ball over before getting a shot off. Prior to Pierce's game-winning shot, Brian Holloway (14 points, 11 rebounds) converted two free throws to give GC the 63-62 lead.

Rodney Blackstock led The Pride with 20 points.

UMW led 40-32 at halftime, but Greensboro climbed back and on two three pointers from Daron Williams (14 points) first took the lead with less than five minutes to play. GC faces Misericordia in the consolation game on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.
