Coast Guard 59, MIT 28

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Senior Lis Bosma led all scorers with 21 points and Coast Guard outscored MIT 37-13 in the second half enroute to a 59-28 win in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.

Coast Guard jumped out to an 11-2 lead in the first eight minutes of the game and took a 22-15 lead into halftime.

Coast Guard led 27-19 with 14:53 left in the second half when the Bears used a 16-0 run to put the game away, taking a 43-19 lead with 7:57 left in the game.

Holly Bucheit led Coast Guard (6-3, 2-0) with seven rebounds while Kira Peterson had a game-high seven assists. DeCarol Davis was the Bears' second leading scorer on the day with eight points.

Karen Kinnaman led MIT (3-5, 0-1) with nine points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
