Hamline (4-5, 2-4 in the MIAC) jumped out to a 38-18 lead at the break after holding the Auggies (0-10, 0-7) to just 22 percent shooting from the floor.
With the score tied at 12-12, Hamline ensued on a 19-0 run that lasted 7:47. Six different Pipers scored during the span including five by sophomore Ashlee Senser. The lead would balloon to as many as 42 points in the second half.
The Hamline defense forced 38 Augsburg turnovers and held the Auggies to 26 percent shooting for the contest (14-54). The Pipers shot 39 percent for the game (29-75).
Petrich went 7 of 15 from the floor. She also added three assists and three steals.
Sophomore Kelly Lines was the only other Piper in double figures with 10 points.
All 12 Pipers that entered the game scored at least three points. Junior Laurisa Ewert scored nine points with five rebounds and four steals. Sophomore Andrea Eilertson had a career-high 12 boards in the contest.
