JACKSONVILLE, Ill — The MacMurray Highlanders fell to 3-8, 0-1 with a loss to Fontbonne University 98-93 in their conference opener. They won the battle of the boards 50-45 and out shot their opponent 37% to 36% but committed 31 personal fouls and were beaten at the free throw line 36-23. Fontbonne had 4 players with double figures and the Highlanders 3Davis (24), Carreno (16), McCarthy (15) and Holland (14) were too much for MacMurray to overcome. Long and Robinson each scored 13 and Huff 10 as the Highlanders had 14 players in the scoring column. MacMurray will take on Principia game in their first conference game at Bill Wall Gymnasium on Wednesday and see if they can even their record at 1-1.
