Central hit only 29.6 percent in falling behind 35-19 in the first half. The Dutch warmed up to 45.8 percent in the second half and outscored the Kohawks, 27-22, but it wasn’t enough.
Forward Ashley Nekola again topped the Central charts with 14 points and nine rebounds. Center Cara Hegner had six rebounds.
The Dutch trailed by as much as 39-22 early in the second half but Central scored eight unanswered points to make it 39-30 with 14:35 left. But the margin was never less than eight the rest of the way.
Coe outrebounded Central, 37-32, and shot 41.8 percent from the floor. Both teams had 22 turnovers.
The Kohawks are 4-7 overall and 1-1 in the league. Central drops to 3-8 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
Central makes its first home appearance since Dec. 11 when the University of Dubuque visits Kuyper Gym Tuesday for a 6 p.m. contest.
