Luther took a 10-point lead just over six minutes into the game and was up 45-26 at intermission. Both teams are now 3-7 overall and 1-1 in the league.
Central guard Chris Nelson had 19 points to share game-high honors with Luther’s Brandon Grimm. The Norse placed four players in double figures.
Luther outrebounded Central, 32-30, and outshot the Dutch, 53.8 percent to 45.3 percent.
Central was a bit shorthanded. Center Clint Driftmier was limited to nine minutes of action in a reserve role after suffering a foot injury on the team’s trip to California after Christmas.
The Dutch are also without the services of starting guard John Carlson who is academically ineligible for the spring semester.
Central continues league play at Cedar Rapids Saturday, meeting Coe College in a 4 p.m. contest, before returning home Tuesday to take on the University of Dubuque.
