After trading opening shots, Bethany took the lead for good in the contest. A 7-0 run gave the Bison men a 9-2 lead with only five minutes burned off the first-half clock. When the Mavericks answered – cutting their deficit to six – Bethany followed that majestic opening with an encore, rolling off 11 straight points to take a 26-9 margin over the Mavericks.
On several occasions, the Bison men controlled the game by as many as 33 points. Bethany took a 41-19 margin into the intermission.
Matt Drahos was the stud of the Bison’s herd against Medaille. On the day, he earned game-highs in points, rebounds and assists. Mike Drahos nabbed 19 points and added eight rebounds to Bethany’s win.
Medaille (0-8) was led by a pair of players who earned eight points.
