The Scots improve to 4-7 overall and 3-3 in the MIAC. Hamline falls to 3-7, 1-4 in league play.
The Scots led 11-2 after nine minutes of play against the slow-starting Pipers and never trailed. They led 36-23 at halftime and increased their advantage to 23 points at 58-35 by out-scoring the Pipers 22-12 over the first 10 minutes of the second half.
Greg Koba paced Hamline with nine points. Brandon Aukes grabbed 10 rebounds.
Macalester shot 54% from the field and went 10-for-19 from three-point range. There were 43 turnovers in the game, 22 by Hamline and 21 by Mac.
Macalester plays Saturday (Jan. 8) at Carleton. Next up for Hamline is a Saturday MIAC game at home against Augsburg.
