SUNY BROCKPORT MEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEATS ST. LAWRENCE
Belluci leads team in points, Williams posts double-double
BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Ben Bellucci (Syracuse/Cicero North Syracuse) scored 18 points and two other players scored in double figures to lead SUNY Brockport to a 71-63 triumph over St. Lawrence in a non-league men's basketball game Wednesday night.
The Golden Eagles improved to 5-3 while St. Lawrence fell to 2-6.
Bellucci, who has led the team in scoring in all eight games this season and posted nine rebounds with five steals for Brockport. Brandon Williams (Rochester/Edison) recorded his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Kellan Skrine (Henrietta/Rush-Henrietta) added 17 points in the contest.
Aaron Marshall (Buffalo, NY) led the Saints with a game-high 21 points and added 14 rebounds, while Keith Sullivan (Brooklyn, NY) scored 15 points with seven rebounds. Pat Delmonico (Skaneateles, NY) scored 14 points for the Saints.
Brockport shot 35% for the night, while St. Lawrence was 43% from the floor. The Golden Eagles led at halftime, 35-26, and had a 46-42 rebounding advantage on the night. Brockport led by as many as 15 in the second half (50-35) with 14:09 remaining.
SUNY Brockport will play in the J.P. Morgan Chase Tournament beginning on January 12 with opponents and time to be determined at 10 p.m. Sunday night.
