Stangl hit two 3-pointers in a five minute, 14-1 run to open the game and the Yellowjackets only brought the down below double digits once as Stout (8-3, 4-1) went on to the WIAC win. Stangl finished the game with 12 points, eight in the first half as Stout took a 37-20 halftime lead.
Stout shot an even 50 percent on the night, connecting on 27-of-54 shots from the floor, while holding the Yellowjackets to 32 percent shooting (22-68).
Stout's Adam Chandler led all scorers with 15 points, drilling half of his six 3-point attempts, several of them pull-up jumpers from above the key.
Stout won the rebounding battle in the fast-paced affair, pulling down 47 boards to 37 for Superior. Stangl finished with seven rebounds, while Jacob Nonemacher led Stout with eight boards.
Superior got 14 points from Laron Reed, 12 from Floyd Nyemeck-Bayiha and 11 from Leonard Cobb.
