New York University 77, Brandeis 52

NEW YORK — The New York University men's basketball team defeated Brandeis University 77-52 in the team's regular-season finale on Saturday, February 26, at the Coles Sports Center in Manhattan.

The Violets trailed 13-4 early in the game and 24-22 with 10:25 left in the first half. From that point, NYU outscored Brandeis 25-10 and took a 47-34 halftime lead.

The second half was much the same as NYU opened the session with a 22-7 streak to put the game out of reach.

Four players scored in double-figures for NYU.

Jimmy Janeczek made 5-6 three-pointers and led the way with 15 points. Daniel Falcon connected on 6-8 from the field and had 13 points. Jason Boone had 12 points (5-7), while Bobby Serafin added 11 points (5-6) and a game-high nine rebounds.

Overall, NYU shot 60.4% (32-53) from the field, while holding Brandeis to 34.8% (16-46).

NYU (16-9, 6-8 University Athletic Association) ended the regular season with three straight wins and now await a possible berth to the ECAC Metro Tournament.

Kwame Graves-Fulgham led the Judges (14-11, 7-7) with 14 points.
