Framingham State 48, Bridgewater State 47

Framingham, MA — After trailing most of the game, the Framingham State College men’s basketball team pulled out a thrilling 48-47 win over visiting Bridgewater State. With the win, the Rams (15-9) move on to the MASCAC Finals to face the winner of the Salem/Worcester game which was also being played tonight. This is the Rams second appearance in the MASCAC finals in the last four seasons. With the loss, Bridgewater State finishes their season 14-12.

The Rams fell behind the Bears just before halftime and trailed all of the second half until senior Chris Feeney hit a 3-pointer with 3:17 remaining to give the Rams a 44-42 lead. Junior Ralph Sully pushed the lead to four with 2:38 remaining on a jumper in the lane. With 21 seconds remaining senior Matt Badiali hit a jumper and was fouled to cut the Rams lead to 48-46. After a timeout Badiali hit the free throw to make it a one point game, 48-47. The Bears pressured the Rams in the backcourt and forced a turnover, giving the Bears the ball and a chance to win with 19 seconds left. Bridgewater was unable to find a clean look in the final seconds to seal the Rams win.

Badiali finished with a game high 13 points and teammate Peter Santos finished with 11. The Rams were lead by Feeney who finished with 12 points and 5 rebounds and senior Jared Clark, who was one point away from a double double, finished with 9 points and a game high 15 rebounds.
