The Shoremen (10-15, 7-11 Centennial) led, 37-31, at halftime, but the Green Terror (5-20, 3-15) came back to tie the game twice in the second half, the second time on two free throws by Sam Anstead with 12:09 to play that knotted the score at 51-51. The Shoremen took the lead for good on two Webb free throws with 11:45 remaining, but McDaniel was still within three points (69-66) with 6:46 left in the contest. Washington outscored the Green Terror, 18-7, over the next 4:26 to push the lead to 87-73 on a Webb lay-up with 2:20 remaining.
Webb picked up two early fouls in the game and played only four minutes in the first half. He connected on 12-of-15 free throw attempts in the game en route to his team-high 25 points and all of those attempts came during the final 20 minutes. Webb also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out a game-high four assists.
Sophomore forward Joe Breslin added 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds in just 18 minutes of playing time for the Shoremen, while junior guard Kyle Stem (added 17 points of his own and a game-high four steals. Washington senior forward Scott Polyniak made his first career start in the contest and scored a career-high six points. Polyniak drained the first three-pointer of his collegiate career with six seconds left in the game.
Kyle O'Connor scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Green Terror in the loss. O'Connor shot 8-fo-10 from the field, four-of-six from beyond the three-point arc, and 7-of-10 at the free throw line. Anstead added 23 points for McDaniel.
The two teams were whistled for a combined 62 fouls in the game and attempted a combined 92 free throws. The Shoremen attempted a Centennial Conference record 51 free throws and made good on 37 of them. McDaniel was 27-of-41 at
