STORM LAKE, Iowa — The 10th ranked Buena Vista University men’s basketball team tallied a first round victory in the Iowa Conference Tournament over Central College on Tuesday night. The Beavers rolled past the Dutch by a 103-80 margin. BVU improved to 22-4 on the season, while Central College ended their 2004-2005 season with an overall season record of 7-19. BVU will now host Luther on Friday night, as the sixth seeded Norse upset third seeded Loras College Tuesday night in overtime. IIAC Central Dutch

In the first half, the Beavers used 43.3 percent shooting from the floor as they went 13-30, and 14-20 from the foul line to control the 44-33 halftime lead. In the second half, the Dutch never came within 11 as the Beavers cruised to the 23-point victory.
Randy Bissen had a big night inside for the Beavers as he recorded 24 points, going 7-9 from the floor. He also hauled in seven rebounds in the win. Michael Cameron and Jordan Campbell added 17 and 16 points for the Beavers, respectively. Eric Wiebers tallied seven assists.
Zak Clark led the Dutch and all scorers as he poured in 33 points in the loss for the Dutch, going 6-8 from behind the arc. In addition, Scott Huisman recorded 21 points for the Dutch.
Buena Vista will host Luther on Friday at 8:00 pm. The Beavers won both of the first two meetings between the two squads earlier this year. Wartburg College will host Coe College in the other semifinal.
