KERRVILLE, Tx. — Hooper Grabs Season High 43 Points in 106-90 Win over Mountaineers

02/19/05- Sid Hooper (Andrews) had his biggest shooting night of the season as he helped the Lobos in a 106-90 ASC win against Schreiner Saturday in Kerrville. The win marks the final regular season game for 2004-2005. It also marks the third time this year that Sul Ross has hit triple digits.

Hooper hit 16 of 23 shots from the floor including 9 of 14 from long range and hit 2 of his 3 free throws. He was also credited with 2 assists, 3 steals and 4 rebounds in Saturday’s win.

Other Lobos hitting double figures were freshman Jermaine Packer (Midland) with 12 points, Rockland Owens (Wharton) with 11 and Aaron Hardwick (El Paso) and Rick Herrera (Alamogordo, NM) with 10 points each. Herrera was also leading assist man with four while Justin Steward (Texico, NM) led at the boards with seven rebounds.

The Lobos were over 50% from every shooting category in Saturday’s game.

Sully hit 41 of its 71 shots from the floor, good for 58 % including a 52% performance from 3-point distance or 14 for 27. Sul Ross shot 57% from the foul line.

Sul Ross finishes the regular season at 18-6 and 16-6.

They will enter next weekend’s ASC tournament as the third seed and will face the second seed from the ASC East, East Texas Baptist in the second game of the tournament next Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Clinton, Mississippi.
