Rashawn Wilson (Jersey City/Dickinson) paced Ramapo with 23 points and nine rebounds. Amin Wright (Jersey City/Ferris) contributed 14 points and 11 boards for a double-double. The Roadrunners lost for just the second time in their last 18 games.
Stockton raced out to a 17-4 lead and dominated the first half. The Ospreys shot 9-17 (52.9%) from beyond the arc and led by as much as 25 points in the period. Smith went 5-7 from three-point range and scored 20 first-half points to stake Stockton to a 53-32 lead at the break. Polk and Smith began the second half with consecutive three-pointers to boost the margin to 27 points at 59-32. Ramapo later closed the gap to 71-60 on a basket by Wilson with 9:51 to play, but Polk answered with four consecutive points and the Ospreys cruised to their eight straight victory, 94-80.
As the second seed for the NJAC Tournament, Stockton will have a first-round bye and host a semifinal game on Wednesday, February 23 at 7 pm. Despite today’s loss, Ramapo is the top seed for the NJAC tourney. The Roadrunners also receive a bye and will host a semifinal matchup on Wednesday.
