Maine Maritime 71, Elms 53

CASTINE, Me. — Elms College freshman forward Amy Kasala (Dalton, MA) recorded a team-high 15 points and 10 rebounds, but Maine Maritime Academy pulled away from a six-point halftime lead to earn a 71-53 win over the Blazers in Saturday afternoon’s North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women’s basketball game at Castine, Maine.

The Blazers lost their second straight game to finish the regular season 11-13 overall, 10-8 NAC and will await its seeding in this week’s NAC Tournament. Maine Maritime improved to 21-4 overall, 15-2 NAC.

Maine Maritime, which had three players reach double figures in the victory, outscored the Blazers 37-25 in the second half.
