JACKSONVILLE,Ill. — It was another frustrating day for the Highlanders and their fans as Westminster defeated MacMurray 114-91 in a crucial home game. It forces the Highlanders to defeat Blackburn, on the road, Tuesday and hope for some help from Westminster and Greenville to knock off Principia and Fontbonne. If not, then it is the end of the season for MacMurray as they can't qualify for post season play. The Bluejays shot well as they knocked down 57% of their shots from the field, 53.8 (14-26) from long range and 67% from the charity stripe to pick up the win. They had 6 players in double figures as they spread the ball around and were hard to defend. MacMurray had beaten the Jays in Fulton on January 26th 112-109 and were shooting for the sweep. Once again, the Highlanders did not shoot well enough or put enough defensive pressure on to get the job done. They were out rebounded (45-31) and, while they only had 15 turnovers, they just seemed to come at time when it stopped a run. Robinson (16) and Cunningham(13) were the only players in double figures it was the third time this year that MacMurray could not win on their home floor. We have one slim hope and it will have to start with a win in Carlinville on the 22nd.
