The visitors held a 17-point advantage midway through the opening period when sophomore forward Stephen Wheeler took a nifty pass from junior guard Pat Satalin and scurried through the lane for a layup. Gallaudet retaliated and closed the gap to 33-25 when junior guard Brendan Stern tickled the twine from behind the arc shortly before halftime.
The two teams traded baskets through much of second half play as the Bison clawed their way back into the contest, cutting the deficit to 55-51 when Jackson drove baseline for the hoop with 3:28 remaining. However, the Cardinals would hold off the charge as Satalin hit four from the line in the final minute, sealing the win.
Junior guard Robert Haney Jr. joined Jackson in double figures with 10 points. Satalin paced Catholic with 18 points, while junior forward Shane Sowden and sophomore forward Patrick Dwyer added 13 and 11 points, respectively. With the loss, the Bison finish the regular season at 6-19 overall and 1-13 in league play, while the Cardinals improve to 16-8 and 9-5.
