Skidmore 74, Clarkson 61

Saratoga Springs, NY — Dana Martin scored 25 of his game-high 32 points in the second half to lead the Skidmore College men’s basketball team to a 74-61 win over Clarkson University. The win combined with a Hobart loss to RPI moves the Thoroughbreds into a tie with Hobart for first in the Liberty League.

Skidmore (15-7, 9-4 Liberty League) built a 34-26 halftime lead, setting the stage for Martin’s big second-half. The senior guard was 10-19 from the floor and a perfect 9-9 from the free throw line. He also had two assists, two blocks and a steal.

Also for the Thoroughbreds, Cortlandt Toczlowski added 12 points off the bench, while Fran Murray had six points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.

Russ Vitallo led Clarkson (7-17, 3-10 Liberty) with 20 points and eight rebounds.

Skidmore will close out the regular season at home Saturday at 4 p.m. against St. Lawrence.
