Vassar (12-11, 5-8) was eliminated from Liberty League playoff contention. Senior guard Seth Taft (Philadelphia, PA) led the Brewers with 18 points. Freshman forward Lawrence Avitabile (Southington, CT) recorded 14 and seven rebounds. Senior guard Judson Winton (San Francisco, CA) finished with 13 points and five assists.
Ngobeni also had 10 rebounds for Hamilton (8-5 league, 13-10), which stayed alive in the five-team race for four league playoff spots. The Continentals are currently in third place in the league standings. Giorgi Chavleishvili '08 tossed in 18 points. Chavleishvili and Ngobeni combined to go 18-for-21 from the field. Nick Jones '07 registered a double-double with 13 points
and 10 boards. Tim Welchons '06 added 15 points and handed out five assists. Phil Valenti '06 chipped in 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Hamilton led 48-47 with 14:02 left when it went on a 15-3 run to increase its advantage to 63-50 with 9:17 remaining. The lead to grew to as many as 18 down the stretch. The closest Vassar could get in the final minutes was the final score.
