Fisk 91, Thomas More 82

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky — Thomas More scored 12 points in the last 1:20 of the game, but they had already dug themselves too large a deficit as they fell to Fisk, 91-83, Wednesday, in the final home games for Chad Wachs (Park Hills/Covington Catholic) and Ben Brown (Florence/Boone County).

Thomas More's game ending run was similar to the half-ending run the Bulldogs used to open a comfortable lead.

After the Saints had trimmed a 15-point deficit down to four points behind the strength of a 13-2 run, Fisk closed the first half scoring 10 straight in the final 2:25.

It proved to be the game's pivotal moment as TMC outscored Fisk 51-45 in the second half.

Sophomore Garry Horton (Louisville, KY/Pleasure Ridge Park) scored a career-high 26 points to lead the Saints, while freshman Jered Ferguson (Flatwoods/Russell) added 16 points, all in the second half.

Wachs finished the game with 10 points as did junior R.K. Thurman (Portsmouth, OH/Portsmouth. Wachs added 10 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season. In the final game of his Thomas More career, Brown - who will not make the season-ending end trip - scored three points and grabbed three rebounds.

Thomas More will finish its season this weekend when they travel to LaGrange on Saturday and Huntingdon on Sunday.
