Clarke 96, Rockford 66

ROCKFORD, Ill. — Clarke College's 96-66 victory at Rockford College was for the "Byrds." The Crusaders' (18-6, 8-3) senior brother tandem of Joemi and Hiraman Byrd combined for 46 points in the win over the Regents (16-8, 6-5).

Joemi hit seven-of-15 shots on his way to a game-high 25 points, while Hiraman connected on seven-of-13 for 21 points. Hiraman hit 5-of-5 treys, while Joemi was 4-for-8 from beyond the arc.

Chris Kilburg also had 21 points, nailing eight-of-12 field goal attempts. DeMonte Bynum was the fourth Crusader in double figures with 13.

As a team, Clarke buried 14-of-23 3-pointers, including eight in the first five minutes of the game and 13-for-18 in the first half to build a 49-36 advantage at the intermission.

R.J. Coffey's 18 points paced Rockford. Coffey canned four-of-six treys. Joel Carter scored 13 points and Maurice Lewers added 12 in the loss.

RC's Maurice Smith led all rebounders with 10 boards. Kilburg pulled down eight caroms for Clarke.
