Hobart (9-3 league, 14-8 overall) remained in first place in the league standings. The Statesmen made all 12 of their free throws as they outscored Hamilton 16-6 in the extra session. The score was tied at 80 with 4:16 left when Hobart scored ten of the next twelve points to put the game out of reach.
Mike Mastro '07 (12 points) nailed a wide-open three-point shot to tie the score at 78 with 3.1 seconds remaining in regulation. Feane also handed out seven assists and made four steals. Manning, a 6-foot guard, grabbed nine rebounds. Joe Flacke '05 added 16 points and three blocked shots while Joe Virgilio '06 chipped in 12 points. Hobart made 53 percent (18-34) of its field goals in the first half en route to a 44-40 lead at the break.
Tim Welchons '06 led the Continentals (7-5, 12-10) with 20 points. Giorgi Chavleishvili '08 poured in 14 of his 19 points in the second half. Nick Jones '07 had ten points and nine rebounds and Phil Valenti '06 tossed in 14. Staunton Peck '06 registered ten points and handed out four assists before fouling out with 7:10 left in regulation. Hamilton will host Vassar College for another league game on Friday, Feb. 18, at 8 p.m.
