Framingham State 72, Fitchburg State 55

Framingham, MA — Framingham State College senior guard Chris Feeney scored his 1000th career point tonight at home as the Rams (13-9, 7-4) defeated Fitchburg State (5-18, 2-8) by a score of 72-55.

Feeney came into the game needing 4 points to reach the 1000 point milestone and with 6:12 remaining in the first half he scored a layup off a missed shot to become the 16th men’s basketball player to eclipse the mark. Feeney finished the game with 16 points and 6 rebounds.

The Rams led by only three at the half, 28-25, but they exploded for 44 second half points to win comfortably. Senior forward Jared Clark picked up his eighth double double of the year with a game high 16 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore forward Derek Wigman and junior Ralph Sully added 14 and 10 points respectively.

The Falcons were led by senior guard Jim Prignano, who had 13 points and 6 rebounds, and grad. student Rashad Cope who added a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Joe Sabbagh added 11 points.


The Rams next game is senior night, Thursday, 2/17/05, at home at 7:30 against Westfield State, while the Falcons face off against MCLA at home on Thursday at 7:30.
