DOYLESTOWN, Pa. — The DeSales University men’s basketball team jumped out to a 37-22 halftime lead and cruised to a 74-54 road victory over Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.

The victory improved the Bulldogs to 18-6 overall and 10-3 in conference play while the Aggies fell to 9-15, 4-9.

DeSales shot 55.2 percent from the field in the first half, en route to the 15-point lead. Meanwhile the Bulldog defense held Delaware Valley to 32.1 percent shooting and forced 15 turnovers. Kyle Koch had a big opening 20 minutes as he shot 7-for-10 from the field and finished with 17 points.

The Aggies made a comeback bid in the second half as they used a 9-1 run to pull to within five, 40-35, with 12:34 remaining. Isaiah Pinckney and Maurice Slaughter had three points apiece in the spurt. However, DeSales responded with 12 straight points – five by Koch – to put the contest away.

Koch finished the evening with 22 points and five rebounds. Michael Venafra contributed 15 points while David Spadt added 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists.

Senior point guard Randall Graves played in the final home game of his collegiate career and he notched 18 points, five assists and four steals in the loss. He was the only Delaware Valley player to reach double figures. Slaughter was next with seven points and six boards.
