SUNY BROCKPORT MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM DEFEATS SUNYIT
Williams scores 20 with 12 rebounds

BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Brandon Williams (Rochester/Edison Tech.) scored 20 points with 12 rebounds to lead SUNY Brockport to a 99-86 men's basketball victory over SUNYIT Tuesday night.

Brockport improved to 16-6 overall and 10-4 in the SUNYAC, while SUNYIT fell to 8-16 and 3-12 in the league.

Ben Bellucci (Syracuse/Cicero N. Syracuse) added 17 points for the hosts, while Kenny Amparo (Yonkers/Gorton) added 16 points. Williams posted his fourth double-double of the season.

Nick Grimmer (Syracuse/Corron) led the Wildcats with 23 points while Rich Phillips (Olivebridge/Dutchess) added 20. Chantal Bien-Ame (Naples/Corning CC) scored 19 for SUNYIT, while Grimmer had a team-high 10 rebounds.

Brockport led 47-41 and had only one turnover in the first half, while the Wildcats shot 62% in that half. SUNYIT shot 56% for the game while the Golden Eagles shot 44%.

Three Brockport seniors were honored prior to their final regular season home game, David Andrews (Huntington Station/Whitman), Bryan Boswell (Amherst/Sweet Home) and Kellan Skrine (Henrietta/Rush-Henrietta).

SUNY Brockport plays at Cortland Friday night.
