After a weekend sweep of Indiana schools Rose-Hulman (Fri.) and DePauw (11-11, 5-7) on Sunday Head Coach Tim Wise and the Millsaps Majors (9-13, 6-6) have gaurenteed themselves a spot in the SCAC conference tournament for the second straight season.
Behind freshmen forward's Rodney Rogan's 18 points and Sandro Norris' 13 points the Majors jumped out to an early lead on the Tigers and led 36-28 at the break.
The Tigers outscored the Majors in the second half but the Tigers took a one point lead, 55-54, with 5:27 remaining. Tyler Warren gave the lead back to the Majors on the next trip up the court with a lay-up.
Rogan, Warren and Deonte Oscar all converted from the free throw line with under 30 seconds to play. Oscar hit two of two with two seconds left sealing the win. The Tigers failed to inbound the ball as time expired.
Carr Van Brocklin finished with a season-high 12 points and Tyler Warren had 11 in the win. Rogan hit 9-12 from the charity stripe and the Majors connected on 24-28 from the line.
The Majors were swept when the traveled to Indiana in early January.
