The Tommies won their fifth in a row and clinched a top-two MIAC playoff seed and first-round bye with the victory.
Freshman Michael Rohr had 10 points and seven rebounds for SMU.
UST tied for first place with Gustavus with one week to play. The Gusties (15-2) control their fate as they play Monday at Augsburg, Wednesday at Macalester, and Saturday at home vs. St. John's, while UST finishes its regular season Wednesday at Concordia.
Senior guard Neal Anderson went 5-for-7 from 3-point range and finished with 15 points. Anderson now has 149 3-pointers in his two seasons as a starter.
The Toms broke to leads of 17-4 and 37-17 and led 39-24 at halftime. They built the lead to 70-40 with 7:17 to go after back-to-back treys by Anderson.
