Centre's Coy Zerhusen posted a double-double (12 pts./10 rebs.) to lead the Colonels to a come-from-behind, 72-63 win against host Sewanee today in an NCAA Division III and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball game at Juhan Gym.
Sewanee is 8-13 overall and 5-7 in the SCAC, while Centre is 17-6 overall and 8-4 in the SCAC.
Sewanee was led by Chris Eddy with 13 points and eight assists and two steals, while Jason Smith contributed 11 points and four rebounds.
Sewanee led by 12 in the first half and as many as 10 in the final 20 minutes.
In the second half, the Tigers were up by 10 (50-40) at 15:46, before Centre went on a 14-0 run for a 54-50 advantage at 10:09. Sewanee re-took the lead at 55-54 (9:21) on a 3-point jumper by Eddy.
Centre's Matt Nestheide answered with a three of his own at 7:47 as the Colonels took the lead for good at 57-55.
Centre's biggest lead of the second half and the game was 10 at 69-59 (2:23).
