Stout (12-8, 7-6) held a 67-65 lead in regulation after Terry Farmer scored while double teamed and Ryan Stangl dropped in a free throw with 11 seconds left. But Superior's Laron Reed scored with 2.6 seconds left to tie the game at 67. Reed was fouled on the play, but missed the free throw, sending the game into overtime.
Farmer hit two free throws to open the overtime period, but a 3-pointer by Reed gave the Yellowjackets the one point lead. The lead would change hands three times before Superior grabbed the lead for good when Reed drove the lane again, drew the foul and, this time, completed the three-point play, putting Superior up, 75-73 with 54 seconds left.
The Blue Devils missed three shots on their next possession and would not score until the 15 second mark when Greg Chaisson popped in a 3-pointer to tighten the score to 77-76.
The Yellowjackets sandwiched a three point play and two free throws around a Farmer bucket, and the game was out of reach.
Reed led all scorers with 26 points. Stout got 17 points from both Chaisson and Farmer. Eric Heisler came off the bench to score 13 points. Jacob Nonemacher had seven blocked shots.
