Centre 70, Thomas More 52

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky — Thomas More shot just 35 percent from the field and 42 percent from the free throw line as they fell to Centre Wednesday, 70-52, at Connor Convocation Center.

Playing their third game in five days, the Saints struggled offensively in the first half against the Centre zone, shooting just 27 percent.

The second half saw TMC get better shots against the zone as they converted on 41 percent. Thomas More also battled on the boards in the second half, outrebounding the Colonels by eight - after losing the battle in the first half.

The second half saw marked improvements although Centre outscored the Saints, 32-31.

Sophomore E.J. Haynes (Cincinnati, OH/Walnut Hills), picture at right, recorded his fourth double-double of the season. The reserve center finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds to go along with a team-high two blocks.

Junior Andrae Woodard (Allensville/Todd County Central) finished with team-highs in points (15) and assists (4).

Thomas More (7-14) will take the court Saturday when the host Piedmont at 4 p.m. The same two teams combined for 221 points as the Saints won, 117-104, three days ago.
