Gwynedd Valley, Pa. — Arcadia snapped No. 21 Gwynedd-Mercy's 10-game win streak with a 63-59 upset win in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference tilt Wednesday evening at the Griffin Complex.

The Scarlet Knights' Cory Rich hit the go-ahead bucket with 44 seconds and Eric Elliott sank two free throws with nine seconds left to put the game out of reach, sending the Griffins to their first PAC loss of the season.

Rich scored 12 of his game-high 18 points in the second half. Teammate Justin McCuen added 15 points, hitting for five three-pointers.

Down 61-59 and with less than 20 seconds to play, Gwynedd-Mercy (18-4, 12-1 PAC) had a chance to tie the game but a lob pass inside to Badou Gaye went off his fingertips and out of bounds, turning the ball over to the Scarlet Knights (4-18, 3-10 PAC).

The Griffins trailed 33-29 at the half and were behind no more than six points in the second stanza. GMC rallied, as Rashid Santiago sank a three-pointer to give GMC 58-56 lead with 3:06 remaining. The sophomore scored 12 points and dished out six assists.

Rich tied the game with his short jumper on the next possession and later hit the eventual go-ahead field goal.

Sophomore Chris DelBrocco led GMC with 13 points. Senior Jeff Thomas added 11 points while Gaye finished with nine points and a game-high eight boards.
